Abstract

This article corresponds to a theoretical review, whose purpose is to understand the evolution of the person-centered approach (ECP) from its birth to the present. To do this, first some works by authors who have reviewed this topic are described, in english and portuguese, to later make a description in phases of the evolution of the ECP. It is concluded that the person-centered approach is a perspective in constant evolution, which has been expanding at a theoretical and practical level, in coherence with its founding principles.
