Abstract

This article proposes a way to enrich the educational action considering as a central axis the person-centered approach developed by Carl Rogers. To achieve this purpose, a description of the person-centered approach, person-centered education, meaningful learning, encounter groups and the concept of emotional intelligence will be made. Additionally, it is argued that each of these elements and tools can contribute to educational action. Lastly, it is concluded that person- centered education considers teachers as facilitators of the learning process, favoring trust in the process and establishing a bond with each student. On the other hand, the realization of encounter groups can favor the integral development of the students, from the interaction in a safe and free space.
