Abstract

According to the Procuraduría General de la Nación (Attorney General's Office of Colombia, 2023), cases of anxiety are a recurrent reason for consultation in the field of psychotherapy. This article presents a single case study of psychotherapy with a client experiencing anxiety, conducted using a qualitative and descriptive methodology within the context of an internship for a master’s degree in clinical psychology at a university center in Colombia. The case was approached through Person-Centered Therapy, a humanistic psychology model developed by Carl Rogers, documenting the client's progression through the different stages of this therapy: description, analysis, assessment, and integration. The findings indicate that the therapy provided a safe and supportive environment, facilitating a gradual restructuring of the self and showing positive outcomes in the remission of the main symptoms. Finally, the article discusses relevant aspects of the results and presents general conclusions.
